@boneheaddukedog96 hmm, tough question they are both the same platform, I'd go with which ever is lightest, back then yamaha had pretty light sleds so look into the weight. I'd put a yami pogo type front suspension or a tundra pogo suspension in it.

ok i got a question what would be a better choice to modify a yamaha 440 exciter late 70's or a late 70's skidoo tnt???
im droping a polaris 98 440 engine in it and extending the front suspention and adding the 133 track mt bars and new skis but idk what sled to pick
what u think yamaha or skidoo???

i would try a l/c 440 engine from the 03-07 440 race sleds mainly from doo. you can buy complete ones for $500 running

I'm looking to do a build similar to this, what motor mount did you use with the 503 f/c in it? An are you on a forum. I'd like more info on everything you did. I love your élan.

@damoleman69 i used an older 440 mount - bolted right on and in. check my build video and build thread on dootalk in the vintage section.
