As an accounting and finance student I find these speculations about increase in earnings rather disturbing. Yes in the long run a BA in english might allow you to earn more. In the short run once you default on your loans and the interest rate triples any increase in long run earnings will be offset. In community college I worked a job part time at a retail store. We had around 3 or 4 cashiers and 2 stock crew that had bachelor's degrees from various state universities. LMAO

LOL Lets hope they majored in something lucrative. An english degree is not worth 40k in debt. This is why I went to community college and then a state university. Here is some info about student loans they don't tell you!
1. Excluded from bankruptcy! Never go away!
2. You will pay them back regardless of your employment situation
3. College isn't an investment it is an expense (AICPA rules)

Arts degrees are a waste. Even if you do a science degree...unless you have sponsorship or something lined up that your going to be poor until your 40's.
A lot of female students in England are becoming prostitutes in order to pay for their college/university degrees. It's the 'new' way of funding. 'Old boys' 50+ who got a free education off the govt. and 'good jobs' and are now 'fat cats' are now funding Female students for sex. Happening all over. Ever wonder why most uk politicians are male?
