This is my prized 4" juvenile Clarion Angelfish. He came in a week and a half ago and is absolutely stunning.

  • @catsaretimtams That's a rip off, more like a $2000 fish

  • My local aquarium store has one for sale for 15,000! I really hope you got a better deal than that for your fish.

  • The Holacanthus of the eastern pacific (H. Passer and H Clarionenisis) seem to behave differently from other large angels in that they often show up in large congregations. Is my impression of them accurate? From what I have read about them, the only concern in keeping them in home aquariums is their preference for somewhat cooler temperatures (close to 70). I have kept Passers and they are bold, personable fish. You are justified in being proud of this beautiful clarion!

These used to cost about $200.00 in the US back in the 80s when there were no restrictions on harvesting them. They have always been my all time favorite angel. I had a nice sub adult along with a gorgeous bright Orange Garibaldi in a 300 gal tank along with a New Caladonian Tusk, adult, Queen, a gorgeous Emperor, a large Asfur, 3 Purple tangs and 2 yellows. I loved that tank!

  • Gorgeous!

  • amazing colors

  • in oz this fish cost around AU$3000. strong and hardy fish compare to conspicuous angel.

  • arent these like illegal and you'd have to smuggle them from Cabo ?!?

  • Awesome indeed, such a beauty. I'd try to get one if the price was far more reasonable and they were more common. Such a gem. What are you feeding him?
