i havent read the books, but reading more than 1 comment about how Dobby gave him the plant gill stuff, this is just my opinion, they probably didnt put dobby in this one because he was mostly featured in the ... 2nd(?) one. and dont respond to me in a mean way, i havent read the books yet & thats just my opinion.

@12peach10 that true it also cost alot more for the visual effects for dobby so it was just cheaper and easier to do it this way, it annoyin but there isn't much we can do.

We can at least always be happy that the stuff that's different from the books isn't usually too major. For the most part, the films are pretty good at being faithful to the events.

And even if you're still not happy about not seeing Dobby (which admitedly bugged me too) at least we get to hear Nevile say "My god. I've killed Harry Potter!"

@12peach10 true, I was kinda disappointed in not seeing Dobby, but for the fourth book, there's a lot of background story on why Dobby is at Hogwarts and stuff, so yeah like the other people have said, it's easier, cheaper, and a shorter way to include this part

It is true that they cut out Dobby basically with everything (Gillyweed, Room of Requirement)  but it made it kind of nice and a treat to see him again in the seventh and he was given his spotlight.

look they probably cut dobby off because if he was in the movie they would have to put all the scenes in the kitchen in and there just wasn't time for it....
