  • I started on Avid when I was 18, on a PC, because I could afford a PC unlike a over priced Mac. I learned the rigid structure of Avid, this video doesn't explain it really well, but they are not joking when you 'fly' through your editing.

    Adding a simple fade and giving the duration of the fade at the same time in Avid is under 1 second. FCP: right click, add fade, double click, click duration, type duration, OR open effects, favorites, select and drag it, double click it, click duration...
