@naaleyy you have to do a certain number of hours in an equity theatre, then apply. pretty sure you pay dues and stuff too, cuz its basically a union for theatre actors

equity audition=you won't get in unless you're an equity member. that means they only want experience performers.
open call with "equity procedures in effect" = they'll take the equity ppl 1st, then with whatever time remains, they'll take some nonequity ppl.
open call with "equity procedures not in effect"= they'll take people in the order they arrived, regardless of whether or not they are equity.
Most of the good auditions are equity auditions so being a member opens doors.
