While there were 2 bears and at least 42 teen gang members, the text doesn't say that any of them were killed. The word in Hebrew does not necessarily mean kill, more like wounded. Not that no one died, but the more likely ending of the story than how you depict is that these hoodlums thought either "food," "glory," or both and went after the two 400 lb bears with whatever rocks, sticks, knifes, etc. was available to them and they attacked the bears. Any that did die, was their own fault.
