  • Good job. I think John would have liked it.

  • @regcomgrp peace. we meet in hooverville c'mon by for coffee

  • Thank you for such a beautiful tribute. I am Anderson Farber-King. His and Elaine's granddaughter. They both are up "there" smiling!

  • In my opinion, Steinbeck's message was much greater than his novels. His understanding of Jung's psychology, friendship with Ed Ricketts, and Joseph Campbell are fascinating studies. The book, The Log From The Sea of Cortez is a great introduction to Steinbeck beyond an entertaining reading experience.

  • John died on December 20th, 1968. This was the day I got married. Went to Salinas and went to all the places he wrote about. I took classes in the room he was born in. Put flowers on his grave once a month. Had a beer milkshake. Had my pineapple pie with blue cheese and a beer. Went where Mac and the boys got the frogs. Almost got a ticket backing up the hill to the Carmel Valley road like Mac and the boys. This was before Cannery Row was "discovered."

In peace my friend, in peace.

  • @macktones

yes he did, the sequel to that book is sweet thursday

  • didnt he write cannery row also?

  • he wrote the book of mice and men i think

  • how2233-read east of eden, his most ambitious book, he calls it the ''the big book'', you have to read it!

  • Nice song, East of Eden is my Favorite book.
