Can anyone prove with any certainty that religions around the world are not just i different interpretation of what ancient ppl recorded happening in the sky? It seems easier to believe that than all the stuff religion has to offer
BBC series (The Hidden Story of Jesus) by Robert Beckford investigates amazing parallels to the Christ story in other faiths, some of them predating Christianity by thousands of years. The Hindu god, Krishna, was conceived by a virgin and his birth was attended by angels, wise men and shepherds. Buddha was also the result of a miraculous birth and visited by wise men bearing gifts. Beckford attempts to unravel the mystery of why there are so many versions of the Christ story across the world...
Whether I was born anywhere with any religion I still wouldn't believe what she says because she just comes out as a liar in every way not proving her claims with facts.
Before someone goes on saying how this has anything to do with proving factually the miracles in the Bible, it doesn't. It does however have everything to do with disproving the claims between the Bible and the religion of ancient babylon.
Just because Humanitys concept of God began with worshipping the Sun, prior to anthropomorphism, doesnt say that it was wrong. Its still Divine, still God like, still valid to the soul. Orthodox religions just felt it easier to identify with a divine being that was more human. The irony is that in the end, it wasnt God that made man in his own image, it was man that made God in his own image.
Legion-youre probably from the US,and the predominant religion in the West is Christianity. If you were born in India, SE Asia or the middle east, or Israel, would you be Christian? Probably not. So does that mean that just because others have a different concept of God, it didnt come from a single central concept? The concept of God is universal and started ages ago in something central and quite different. Sun worship is the oldest form of religion and so logically the original God concept.
And this is the ultimate paradox.People who believe a unified, constant in all religious theory quote archaeology books, people who stick to religious dogma quote the bible etc. All wisdom in retrospect, backed up by books created by individuals with their own beliefs and subjective views. Both as valid as each other.Legion-there is only one God copcept mate, but due to the inherant subjective view of everyone, we see it in different ways and adopt what makes sense to us, or what our culture says
Except that they don't. Acharya in the video does not prove her claims at all, and people refuting her aren't doing it with religious dogma but with logic.
You do not need to defend refuting these claims with religious dogma at all. You can just disprove the lies that they spout with scientific and historical facts.
I agree that mystery babylon (including Catholic church) and all its spawns are from that one source. But the argument here is if the Bible is and it isn't.

I think you're just as bad as the people you pointing finger at.

PS. I'm not from US.
