Well, To be grateful to every one/thing who has been very important to your life is a part of Hinduism. We consider out land as our mother due to many reasons. And we all know the place of mother is above GOD. So i don't think it's bad to be a grateful to our mother land. And we Hindu do try to study our scripture. So beware of misinterpretation. India hasnt given much to the Buddhists as well so who is respnsible for that a whole nation? You probably lives under delusion that Hindus are rich while i have been in colonies where many Hindus have to sleep empty stomach many nights. Sikhs as far it is have a great living standard in India perhaps India didnt give you anything.
