anyone who hates on pearl jam, or grunge for that matter, has not heard songs like release, garden, leash, indifference, footsteps or sleight of hand, to name a few...

if they aren't the greatest band ever, they're absolutely among the few best. individually they're excellent musicians, their lyrics are unmatched, and the best part may be what they stand for...

@krounds12 "Ten" was certainly a monumental album... along with "Nevermind"... "Badmotorfinger"... "Facelift"... and all of this just shortly after GN'R's "Appetite" and Metallica's "Justice"... GN'R and Metallica had just redefined a generation's worth of rock and metal... and then these four groups completely did a paradigm shift again. The late 80's - early 90's were the greatest groundbreaking years of rock (broadly defined) not seen since the 60's.
