I would agree that the Skynyrd of the 70s was the greatest, but the reformed band has had some of the originals as well as other great guitarists from the same era such as Hughie Tomasson who was a good friend of RVZ. RVZ was not a guitarist.

i agree jegor666 ive been listen 2 skynyrd for awhile and im 17 and the 70s was the best, but think about this man...you lose like 4 members of the band at once....im just happy their doin there thing and carrying on the great talent of the true "lynyrd skynyrd"

It ain't Skynyrd without Ronnie, Allen, Steve, Leon and Billy. There's still Gary but they play different music now. When i was listening to the older recordings of the new skynyrd like last rebel or lynyrd skynyrd 1991 that was simulat to the old original Lynyrd Skynyrd but now it nothin' like that.

Forget Zeppelin, Hendrix, or Sabbath or any other rock from that period. Thikapuhnuh you're a lucky son of a gun, man. I woulda loved seeing the originals but hats off to these guys. As long as Gary is still alive, Skynyrd will live.

God bless Johnny for steppin up. I'm sure his brother is content in the fact that we still have a Skynyrd to listen to.

Hammered why are you so bitter about which Van Zant is playing the tunes? Lynyrd Skynyrd was about playing music you just don't hear but you feel. That hasn't changed at all no matter which Van Zant is at the helm. Ronnie would have wanted his family to carry on such a good and pure thing. God bless all the Skynyrd Nation.

Ronnie VanZant is Lynyrd Skynyrd. If you don't understand that now, you probably never will. I got nuthin' for you man. You want to watch Vegas tribute bands you're welcome to it. They're all over. There are some good Beatles Tribute bands around.

I'm not disagreeing with you man. I do understand that Ronnie was skynyrd back then however in the interim like evrything else they've evolved to a certain degree. My point was that whomever doesnt believe this song to be a skynyrd sounding sound doesnt really get what skynyrd was about to begin with
