I loved the questions. Dunlap answered well. Hawaii not much so. I was in the audience here, and Marina Harrison was by the the hall's choice. She was a gem and all the boos when she is announced lower RU were louder and longer than was made out to be.

they're so animated, luv it!...I think it was the best top 5 Miss America announcing so far...they root for each other & they still look natural doing it. =)

@brynedney I remember her swimsuit being really unique too; she must won prelim swimsuit, if not, she was at the top of the list her night of prelim swimsuit.

The 93 crowning was interesting too. Kim Aiken, Miss Amer '94, & the first runner-up, Kara Martin, were left on stage. When Kara puts her right arm around Kim, she accidentally hits Kim's right earring, breaking it in half, and you see the earring fly off to the left. Kim ends up having to walk down the runway w/ one full earring, and then one half earring, and it's terribly obvious. But it was a great surprise reaction to the win for the just turned 18 yr old; one of the youngest ever.

I am always amused at the use of the phrase "Random order". Doesn't that seem like an oxymoron? Boy I miss the days of all ten finalists doing talent, and all ten girls on stage up to the end, with 6 in the very end for the announcing of the winner. In one way, keeping on stage the girls not getting a runner-up status might seem as unnecessary, but on the hand I thought keeping them on til the end honored them as finalists.

@BlakeBarbieDoll A few other naturally beautiful winners are Kim Aiken (Ms Amer '94). She was named one of People's Most Beautiful ppl the yr she won. Kaye Lani Rae Rafko, Ms Amer '88. Heather Whitestone, Ms Amer '95, the deaf one, is one of those rare beauties who almost looks best w/o any makeup. She was one of the rare winners who won both swimsuit & talent preliminaries on the way to winning. And Ms America 1955, Lee Meriwether, has aged incredibly well. They are ones to remember.
