The Danube River valley is at its romantic best between Melk and Vienna. This stretch is easily explored by bike and boat, and is ornamented with cute villages, fabled castles, colorful pubs, and capped with a 900-year-old abbey. • Told that Melk Abbey is one of those numerous places to visit before one makes a final exit from this life; from the Mount St Bernards Abbey in Whitwick Leics UK an aura of God Green Acre permeates the surrounding countryside. Observing the Rule of St Benedict was never going to be easy, or so one brother told me; a priest had a different idea - he told me of a place of peace in Austria - only recenlty did I know its name to be Melk Abbey. Mysticallyyours UK
