The Wildlife Center at the Miami Museum of Science is a facility committed to ecological research, rehabilitation, and release of injured birds. The Planetarium is home to Jack Horkheimer's Star Gazer, a weekly television series on astronomy and a SPITZ "Space Transit Planetarium" star projector. The Miami Museum of Science & Planetarium also features surround sound, video projection, lasers and multi-media imagery.
The Weintraub Observatory offers two Meade telescopes for viewing on Friday nights from 8:30 p.m - 10:00 p.m. The museum is open Daily from 10:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Adult tickets are $20, children are $13. Just north of Coconut Grove, across from Vizcaya Museum & Gardens.
From the north, take I-95 to Exit #1A/SW 25 Road, stay in the right hand lane and follow the signs to the Museum/Planetarium.
From the south, follow U.S. 1 and make right just before the split with I-95. From Metrorail, exit at the Vizcaya Station and cross U.S. 1 via the pedestrian overpass.
