I never say never, but this video again shows that wintering flatheads just won't eat a dead shad jiggled in there face.

Watch the video and you decide for yourself.

  • hey just lettin you know yellacats eat live bait only

  • @tothebatcave1 We catch quite a few here in MN using 1/2 a 8" sucker in late July/August. However, I filmed a video just for you. Check out "Wintering Flatheads and the Sucker". I know, I know, I used the wrong color jig head right? LOL!

  • @tothebatcave1

I've caught flatheads (yellowcats) on cut bait for the past 30 years.

  • @MBJB07 These are wintering cats. The water temp is below 40 degrees. Spring, Summer and Fall, cut bait does work great. -thumbs up-

  • @MBJB07 as i said ive known yellas to go after live bait unless there isnt much live bait or its just to big to be eatin live

  • @tothebatcave1 When you get a chance, check out my video called "flatheads and the Sucker". Please don't tell me I have the wrong color jig head. LOL!

  • @idacatguides lol no its just that not ones gunna be active during winter

  • @TheGeneralJin not saying your lying but you can very rarely find a flathead over 100lbs and they always look bigger in pictures and videos i got a 30 during the summer and it looked like it might have weighed arounf 50lbs in the pic

  • @tothebatcave1 Well he was about 150lbs and almost as round as these so I don't know lol I was like 9 back then I haven't been up that way in 14 years or so

  • @TheGeneralJin they only eat cut bait if there starvin

  • @tothebatcave1 Back when my grandparents had a place near Stockton Lake we caught a few Flatheads with cut up BlueGill

  • @madfishinskillz that would be cool. I just forget that snagging isn't illegal everywhere else. I live in Oklahoma, and it is illegal to snag in lake Eufaula.
