Sid is a seed who is quite at home, living in his little underground world. He has two living companions, a spider and a caterpillar, whom are making plans to become something great. Slowly his friends leave on their exciting journeys, leaving Sid by himself, longing for his own life changing event.
My name is Daniel Pagan and I posted my story because I feel that my story is special, engaging and unique. Children want to learn, to grow! When you are so small, you look toward big things and you dream about being in new places. I feel that my story inspires young readers to let their imaginations run wild. More importantly, my story will show young children that they are a masterpieces waiting to happen.
I am a special education teacher living in Kentucky. I also have a Bachelors degree in Art. I am a musician as well and I feel that writing songs has helped me to write my picture book stories. I plan on using Sid the Seed as a teaching tool to inspire kids to reach their full potential. Please enjoy, let me know where youre from and pass this video on!

  • Perfect for my nursery class - thanks so much they will be OBSESSED with Sid :)

  • I love the story and the video and I hope you won't mind me using it with kids I'm teaching?

  • @rmunyan1 As a first grade teacher, I've read books with words like bantar, prehistoric, pounce, nauseous, difference, etc. You will be surprised what children can understand with a bit of scaffolding.

  • what is your email?

  • Hi!

I am a communication student from India.

As one of my projects, it is essential for me to illustrate a children's story. I happened to read

Sid The Seed, and I think its a great story that I would love to illustrate for my project. It would be in the print medium and it is a complete student project and would not be published and made profit of or any such.

Please let me know if I could use the story for my project, with story credits to you ofcourse.

  • I thought it was adorable! I loved the story and the illustrations were wonderful! And yes, I will admit the full grown tree talking to the same buddies did bother me a bit.....but then I'm an adult doing what adults do and over thinking the whole thing. I think you're absolutely right that if I didn't bat an eye with them all playing cards, why did I question the grown tree? Awesome job!! I sent this to several people I know with young kids. Hopefully, you'll get more feedback.

  • Someone else asked me about the tree growing up too quick, and that it isn't reality. I said "well is it reality to have a talking seed playing cards with a spider and caterpillar? I thought about the word thing too, then I checked out a bunch of children's books (since I love books) that were published, and they had difficult words too. It's hard when writing a rhyming story, only a few words seem to fit. Thats why I made an audio for it. Very cool.
