It's the Heps' 1965 version of a much-covered classic written by Wiley Walker and Gene Sullivan. This great song has been covered by so many great American artists such as Bill Monroe, Hank Snow, Elvis Presley, the Statler Brothers, Hank Thompson, Eddy Arnold, Jim & Jesse, and Merle Haggard. This was one of Svenne Hedlund's greatest vocal performances, and considering he is a big Elvis fan it's apparent that he was more inspired by Elvis's reading, judging by the arrangement of the song and the guys' Jordanaires-type backing vocals.

  • elvis's version is best

  • Well, if you like soul music, then you listen to artists who were influenced by those who innovated the genre or who grew up in that part of the country. Mind you, these boys were from Sweden, which is as far from Memphis as you can get. If you were expecting soul from a Swedish group, you came to the wrong place to begin with, and that's the best I can tell you.

  • I really like the effects you've added to the video Sharon. They really make the vid come alive! It's neat just to listen to, you could put just about any 50's group in this video. And I see what you man about Elvis's influences, they're all over this little number! Very nice video Sharon.

  • Thanks, Jim! The only thing that was missing here was that great ending the Jordanaires gave Elvis's version of this. But hey, it was the '60s, and they were the HEP Stars...Hep, as in Cool, up-to-date. There are SO many versions of this on YouTube, even the original version by the guys who wrote it dating back to 1941! Jim & Jesse's version is awesome!

  • Frida said in an interview that she thought

"The Hep Stars" were horrible and that she never would've thought that Benny would be her husband. LOL

  • This is the band where Benny Andersson from ABBA used to play before he founded the best swedish popband ever.
