  • @KateFan Mammoths didn't evolve from either African or Asian elephants. If anything African and Asian elephants evolved from Mammoths. And possibly arguing that the Asian elephant is older than the African elephant because they did keep some hairs (especially seen on young Asian elephants) that you stated in your comment. Also the shorter ears of the Asian elephant could have been another example of Asian elephants coming before African elephants.
