A selection of work by GCSE students from Ryedale School.

The exhibition includes works developed during a week long project at Ryedale Folk Museum as part of The Big Draw 2007. A small group of Year 10 GCSE students and Year 9 Art students took part in two saturday workshops and five Tuesday Twighlight workshops. Their aim was to produce a painting based on the objects and architecture around the Museum grounds. As their work progressed, their paintings became more and more abstract, allowing the characteristics of the paint to influence their creative decisions.

The whole experience was unique, allowing students to work on a large scale with local professional artist, John Creighton, who offered invaluable support and advice.
