Big changes are in store for bus routes in Detroit. A number of routes will be cut completely, while weekend, early morning and late services on other routes are going away all in effort to reduce the city's $300 million budget deficit.
I am a life long Detroiter and I must say sad story but excellent journalism it really gives you the true importance of public transportation in Detroit. I think instead of just cutting and rdeucing a system that has not been changed since 1974 the city should restructure the entire system it is so out of wack today it once was numbered in alphabetical order now route Hayes is #78 and Woodward is 53#
