@nubbyubby give me a break! Rodgers was unproven at that point and you are acting like you knew he would be good all along???? I'm calling BS on that one. Let's look at some other #1 picks: Alex Smith, Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf. And Rodgers didn't even go #1. And btw, Favre was 38 at that time. Elway retired at 38, Montana retired at 39 or 40, Jerry Rice retired at 40. Also, Favre was coming off of one of his best seasons in 2007 so it wasn't like Favre was "losing it" by any means.

Of course no one knew he would be as good as he is - but there is no reason to keep a 40 year old versus a projected #1 overall pick (that we got at 24... This isn't about him going back on his decision to retire. This is about Packers fans feeling that they own him and that he owes them something. You owe HIM, ingrates. Without him and Holmgren (both of whom Green Bay lost, very interesting...) they'd still be as shitty as they were back in the 70s and 80s. The Majik Injury Man LOL!
