Wannabe Connected!

This snippet from the movie "Dream Keeper" most perfectly describes my view and perception of the derogatory term "Wannabe" ... so often applied to "undocumented" Native Americans. We may not have papers confirming our ancestry, but we believe in who we are and want to honor our heritage. We respect what our parents and grandparents have told us. We mean no disrespect to those who have "papers" ... but we would like to be respected for what we have been taught and to have our ancestry (however "undocumented") to be as respected as that of others.
