  • THIS IS SO AWESOME! I love Lloyd Alexander; family and friends were devastated to hear of his death a year ago. To see this is a great treat. (Btw we also used to argue about the pronunciation of names. Now I can tell them how Mr. Alexander does it, ha ha!) Thanks for uploading this!

  • angarhad...now why does that sound so familiar?

    ;-)

So glad you enjoyed it. I felt bad about never writing him, especially after hearing some of his comments in the video. But I'll always be quick to recommend his books!

  • yeah, and i really wish some1 else wood make The Book of Three a movie. disney's wuz good, but a live-action 1 without and changes from the book wood b wonderful :)

  • I'm ready to direct, kind of need a producer though :-/

  • With that statement, probably one of the harps string would have broken! ;) Really great video! I am gonna blog it to everyone!

  • Glad you enjoyed it! Not sure which statement you were referring to, but one must be careful when "coloring" the facts :-)

  • Ah, my favorite author. I do not exaggerate when I say that this man helped me survive my childhood. What a delight to see this video - now I feel as if I have met him personally. I love his humility, his gentleness, his wisdom. God bless him.

  • He's almost exactly how I pictured Fflewddur. Funny.

  • The real life Fflewddur Fflam

  • I really wish Taran would have gone to the Summer Country to be with all of his friends.

  • I started reading The Book of Three in about 2007 just before he died. Funny story actually, it took me about two years to finish reading the books! I read the first two, then I started the third, but I stopped halfway through and a year went by. Just in February I picked up the first book again and started reading. I literally just finished The High King and I am so sad that it's finally over.

  • I read the Prydain books about every 5 years. I had assumed in my adulthood that Lloyd Alexander was dead (I don't know what made me think that). I so wish I had realized he wasn't so that I could've written him a letter to add to the pile of letters he's probably gotten over the years telling him how inspirational his books were to me growing up and still are to this day.

  • I had an encounter with the great Mr. Alexander a year before his passing. He came into the bookstore in which I was working, and by coincidence I was the fellow ringing him up. I recognized his name on the credit card and quickly asked with wide eyes, "Are you Lloyd Alexander, the author?" Well, he mocked holding his hand over his heart and stumbled back, "Somebody knows who I am!" I consider myself fortunate I had a chance that day to tell him how much his books meant to me.

  • I used to pass out every night with one of the books from the Chronicles of Prydain in my hands when I was reading them. That man's brilliance inspired me to pursue writing as a career. May he rest in peace.

  • God have his soul. great writer.

  • @l2runlimited I am capable of writing a screenplay.

  • Me, too! First thing I thought when I saw a picture of him.
