Monroe's Farewell to Longhollow

Here's a Monroe tune that he never commercially recorded. I think James Bryan was the first to record it on one of his old time fiddle albums. This is a little rough. But on these obscure tunes I never get to play with anyone else, it's kinda hard to keep them all fresh. Sounds pretty good on the oval hole mandolin doesn't it??

great job. it sounds familiar to me. I must have heard it somewhere. Surprised Monroe never recorded it.  Now that I think about it, perhaps it was on mandolin extravaganza?

James Bryan recorded this in 1983 on his , *Lookout Blues*, Rounder 0175. On that album he also recorded Monroe's "Nanook of the North" and "Reelfoot Reel."
