  • The game I caught the Tresh walk-off HR was the same game I believe in 1965 after he made a fantastic catch over the left field wall off of Danny Cater in the top 8th inning. I was only ten then and thought it was the Senators. Whichever team Cater played for then was the game which Tresh hit the walk-off HR

  • @SuperMulatto1 They were both awesome!

  • @davidLw15 I can't find any homeruns by Tresh in the bottom of the ninth against Washington...but Tom did hit a lot. My favourite Tresh homerun was against Koufax in game 1 of the 1963 World Series. Or how about off Bob Gibson in game 5 of the '64 World Series?

  • @rickcee Maris and Tresh were nice to everyone.

  • RIP Tom. If only that torn cartlidge in the spring of '67 hadn't happened...

  • Tresh and Maris were about the nicest guys to the kids. I played my little league ball on the fields of Van Cortland Park and McComb's Dam Park--the latter in the literal shadows of Yankee Stadium. Morning practices were the best because we could hang near the player parking lot and wait for the players. I met Tresh at a clinic, along with Pepitone and Bouton, offered by Armour meat company. Tresh took a lot of time with us individually. Great guy. Maris too, at least with the kids.

  • The only ball I ever caught at a ballgame was a bottom-of- the-ninth upper-deck homer by Tresh against the Washington Senators at Yankee Stadium sometime in the 1965 summer.I went to endless numbers of double-headders at Yankee Stadium throughout my youth in the sixties

(hot dog 25 cents) and had the fortune to watch Tommy, Mickey, and Roger play the outfield from 1962 to 1966. Tommy, I miss you and those great Yankees and all the memories of watching you at Yankee Stadium. Rest in peace, Tom

  • Tom Tresh was my 2nd favorite Yankee of all time. Roger Maris was #1.

I had contacted him, and we were going to have lunch together, but died before this happened. Apparently he was a very nice man, well liked by all.
