  • Sorry, I´have no idea who is that guy.

  • That bass player's solo was unacceptable(I'm sad that was the best the WP could produce for a bass solo). The bassoonist was pretty good though.

  • I agree with you, :).

    Thank you

  • weeeena!

subete la pifia de zepperitz ahora en ein helden leben! ese pizzicato en que entra solo!

    jajajaj

  • hola, no tengo ese video. ¿Tu puedes conseguirlo?

  • Don't jugde the bass solo overhasty - it sounds exactly as intended by the composer. The composer did not ask for a double bass solo that sounds like a cello. Mahler wrote in his score that the bass solo should sound like someone playing in the backyard of a drinking hole. That is why he wrote a bass, and not a cello solo. Even at Bernstein's time auditions were very strict. Don't believe that the bassist couldn't have played it better - he played it that way because Bernstein wanted it so.

  • q asco el contrabajista mato todo el solo

  • @samdajellybeenie14 the bass sounds much better than cello, no like that solo on de vid

  • @maiarho

On my mind , as the regular double bass refused to play as Bernstein asked him to do , so Bernstein went by night in the backyard of a tavern ( Mahler's father himself had a tavern) , and he found that man playing some drinking songs .

He just told him to play Frère Jacques , wich lyrics are "dormez-vous ? Sonnez les matines ! ding dung dong "

That's why it's so perfect , but may be too perfect .

Mahler love to mix the worlds ...but we are not used to.

  • This is a beautiful song! I go to a music school, and I play the Kontrabas, and this song! I Łove this soooooooooo much! <3 :D

  • That is a assembly, that is not true the audio one of that video, as they think that a musician of that level and that orchestra is going to touch thus?

Eso es un montaje, ese no es el verdadero audio de esa pieza, no notan como de pronto tiene mas volumen el solo de contrabajo? Como pueden pensar que un músico de esa orquesta y de ese nivel va a tocar asi? Por Favor

  • very interesting!

  • @thedbassist That is exactly how Mahler wanted it though. He didn't want a bass to sound like a cello. He wanted to a bass to sound like a bass.

  • pero si es el solo de contrabajo o.o que en otras orquesta lo toque el cello es distinto, igua que muchos solos de contrabajo adaptados para otros instrumentos xD y de otros instrumentos a contrabajo xD
