I suppose its fun killing animals. But it must be strange living in a world completely separated from them, where you look into a dog's eyes and see nothing but a "dog." Or maybe somehow you're convinced a dog's capable of feeling more than a quail. Who knows, not me.

Since you asked, my point is that hunting is murder, capital M. Yeah, I suppose you can argue that without grocery stores and society as we know it, hunting is a natural law...but we have Reason, and have also learned that killing other humans is a No-No, where once we did not. The point: kill because you need to, not for the thrill or becoming in touch with some hidden part of your own nature--which bloodless athletes can tell you about anyway. I'm interested, why hunt?

@JesuitFarmer Hunting, for me, supplements my yearly food supply, along with fishing by about 80%

I can avoid food with hormones etc. without paying ridiculous "organic" prices. I garden too for food. I practice good ethics & conservation hardly murder. Ever seen a slaughterhouse? Unless you're vegan, maybe it's time to examine yourself first.

Meanwhile, I'll keep doing how I've done all my life.
