Barbara Crowell Roy, Eve Crowell's mom, and board member of Eve's Fund for Native American Health Initiatives, talks about her decision to get off the couch and start running in her 65th year. This video was recorded right before her first 5K, in Bristol RI in June 2011. Watch to see if she finished the race.
Eve's Fund for Native American Health promotes programs in literacy, injury prevention, mental health and education for Native American youth. It was started by Eve's dad, retired neurosurgeon, Robert M. Crowell shortly after Eve's death in 2005.

  • Well thank you for sharing that Barbara and I'm sorry for your loss. You inspired me to pull on my running gear tonight when all I wanted to do was to stay on the couch and feel a bit sorry for my 37-year-old self! I'm struggling with Week 3 of the programme for the third time but I'm going to keep going. I lost a baby in April and am trying to get pregnant again and would love to call a little girl Eva if I was lucky enough for that to happen. Thank you again. Keep up the good work!
