Well, it was more literal theft than what Maila did. As I understand it, they offered the same role to Maila, and then turned around and gave it to Cassandra Peterson.

@Asmahdan Basically what I am getting at is this, Maila, very creatively took elements of other existing characters.. and made it into something her own. Just like Cassandra (whether you like her or not is irrelevant) brought in other ideas and added onto it and made into something her own.

@Jcolinsol Well, i would not call Elvira lame, but I would agree that the fact she had a black dress and black wig just like Maila's character. If you want to go as far as saying she stole her whole gimmick, then you would then have to say the same as Maila stole the idea of her character by combining elements of other characters.. aka Morticia Adams, created by Charles Addams, which, she even admitted it was partly based on, among other characters and characterizations.

The dome top part of her hair was a wig??? I honestly believed it was her real hair; does that mean other 80's punk rock singers and others who sported similar high hair do's wore wigs too ???

Elvira is really kinda lame. She basically stole her whole gimmick from Vampira, yet has none of the class or wit of Maila Nurmi.

And every-time I've seen her out of character she was acting like a rude bitch.
