"Faith Finish"
This "Beyond Words" performance by One Way Street is a classic. It was performed for "Father's Day" "happiokai" at TIS. Many fathers and mothers of TIS children attended. I challenged the Japanese puppeteers to perform this complex "believable action" and prop-handling skit. It was performed by 1 puppeteer and 2 "propateers" who rehearsed many times followed by video feedback to reach the performance state you are about to watch. The puppeteers were introduced to prop-building and handing with this skit. For those who are familiar with "smoke in a can" which is difficult to find now (and forbidden to carry on an airplane), we used Johnson & Johnson's baby powder for the jack-hammer, tractor, and cannon smoke. The video camera used to capture the performance was fixed, so the sign that appears as the runner is reading the "Seisho" (Bible) lingers off-camera. The sign is in both Japanese and English. It is the Bible quotation: Jesus said, "Everything is possible for him who believes." (Mark 9:23)
p.s. It took 17 edit/rendering passes to get this under 1024Mb, the You Tube maximum size -- sorry for the "clipping" on both ends. mjs
