  • As a Louisiana native whose family was active in local politics no one need tell me what Huey Long did for and did to Louisiana. Had Long become President he would not likely have sent the army marching against Mexico or Canada. But in the era of the Great Depression (the only time in U.S. History he could have plausibly been elected) he could have easily plunged the country into even greater chaos and turmoil than it has yet known.

Huey's politics was radical and his conscience unencumbered.

  • Perhaps some of you should read the wikipedia biography of Long to get a comprehensive view of his career; most noteworthy, his vast accomplishments for the people of Louisiana. It's wildly speculative to suggest Long could or would ever become an american Hitler. Are you associating Long with the FICTIONAL character in the movie ALL THE KINGS MEN?

  • Nice collaboration there!

  • How True, As Bizarre a pairing as there EVER was!!!

  • Yeah, creepy. We really caught a break when this guy was taken out of the game. I'm no fan of FDR, but he was head and shoulders above this guy. Long could easily have been the American Hitler.

  • This is wonderfully crazy!!
