Niki de Saint Phalle 1930-2002, Von 1936 bis 1945 besuchte Niki de Saint Phalle die Klosterschule Sacré-Cœur in New York
und kehrte 1951 nach Paris zurück. 1953 entstanden ihre ersten Gemälde. Zunächst
arbeitete sie als Aktionskünstlerin und machte ab 1956 mit ihren Schießbildern auf sich aufmerksam
(Gipsreliefs mit eingearbeiteten Farbbeuteln, auf die sie während der Vernissage schoss).(Aus Wikipedia)

  • I saw the latter half of this film in the Tate Museum a couple of years ago - I thought Niki was just the most desirable person I'd seen in a long time when she just shoots away at the wall (Especially as she bears a spooky resemblance to Helen Marnie of Ladytron). I absolutely love the image of the black paint falling on the skull at 4:26. Beautiful.
