@dogbreath34 mine too--Henry W. Grebbien wounded on June 10th. My Granddad also recieved a high commendation (now a Silver Star) becuase he was a runner and delivered a very important message. He was a career marine also in the Spanish American war in Cuba and Santo Domingo.

@imthatoneguy16 It was the British that broke the Hindenburg line first September 2 and then the main part October 5 and no Germany did not think the US had done this. Germany had the US on the ropes at this time who did not break it on their front until the end of October. No, the US certainly did not scare Germany into surrender but they did prompt them to launch their spring offences. Versailles was changed to be more manageable. I do agree this should end. Thanks for being civil.
