Visitors to the capital will have an opportunity to view the artwork of artists from across the Commonwealth in the Governor's Derby Exhibit, April 1 -- May 10, 2011, in the Capitol Rotunda. The spring-themed show of paintings, lithographs, mixed media works and photographs is coordinated by the Kentucky Arts Council on behalf of Gov. Steve Beshear and First Lady Jane Beshear as a part of the Governor's Derby Celebration.

The exhibit is part of the traditional Governor's Derby Celebration, which will take place in downtown Frankfort from 8 a.m. to noon EDT, Saturday, May 7, 2011, and is open to the public. The exhibit can be viewed at the Capitol during public visiting hours, 8 a.m. -- 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and during the Governor's Derby Celebration on Saturday, May 7.
