Broken Finger Therapy

I just had surgery 2 days ago. The bone was shattered and my tendon was severed. A knuckle was dislocated but that has been fixed. I am know having to work the stiffness out of the finger. I have to try to flex my finger as much as possible for 10 mins, 3 times a day. This is really painful because the tendons are real stiff. Believe it or not the break does not hurt, the stretching of tendons does though. The worst part about this break is that the bone is shattered and may not heal together like it should. If that is the case I am going to have to have more surgery to have a bone graft done. I am praying to God that this will not be the case. But I know His Will is Divine and I will accept His Will, whatever it is. God has blessed me with my finger and I thank Him every day.

@eljefe90 That was a carbon fiber rod between the two sets of metal screws. It acted like a bone while mine was healing, that way I could bend the finger. If I had not been able to bend my finger I probably would have had what was called a frozen finger. The Good Lord gave me the motivation and strength to work it out everyday. Oh the pain then, but oh the joy now.

Did you have to have a closed manipulation on it by chance? i shattered 2 fingers on my left hand 6 months ago i had pins going all the way through both fingers like shiskabobs. i still cant bend the fingers completely and the surgeon wants to do a closed manipulation on it. was wondering what to expect from the manipulation.

@Jamison42166 I don't know what closed manipulation is,a but I am almost certain that I did not have to have that done. I am sorry to hear that you are going to have to have another sugary. I will be praying for you. Peace & Chicken Greece!

@gethimtrigger99 The wound was covered. It was covered with medicated gauss. There was very little damage to the outside. Most of the damage was on the inside, ie... broken/shattered finger. Pain real... Check, Finger shattered... Check, Pain in finger to this day... Check. Yeap, I have to say it is real and still with me to this day.
