  • Finally had the chance to play this game and listen to the soundtrack. This one is especially my favorite. Reminds me of a various classic SNES titles.

  • @BrettUltimus Yay, thanks! I was hoping it would be reminiscent of SNES music. :>

  • @hermanNoodlearms Glad to help! If you do decide to get any sample libraries down the line, make sure you do lots of research first, because I don't know if EWQLSO is actually the best choice anymore (it probably isn't). :P

  • @Pongball Thanks for the detailed reply! EWQLSO is pretty expensive D: I'll have to save up a bit for that nicer stuff, but these soundfonts look really fun. Thanks again!

  • @hermanNoodlearms Thanks again! The Bloom Defender OST mostly used annoyingly expensive sample libraries like East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra, but I wanted a slightly more retro MIDI-ish sound for Sapphire Skies, since I think it fits the pixel art graphics better. Most of the samples were taken from free soundfonts (mostly the "SGM-V2.01 soundfont"--you'll have to google it). I also used a few samples that come with Sonar's Dimension Pro VST plugin (in both soundtracks).

  • I also really love this soundtrack as well!

If you don't mind me asking, where do you get your great orchestral samples?

I'd like to try my hand at composing in an orchestral style, but I'm not sure where to get the sounds I need.
