This show was different than the original version, which was created by Chuck Barris and ran for about four years in the 70s. There were fewer skits for Geoff Edwards (the host) to learn (30 as opposed to 66 here), so they were longer and more intricate.

Ah shoot, Plano I.S.D (my hometown school system) wasn't mentioned. I guess I was in pre-K or Kindergarten the day this show aired. Incidentally, 33 is now KDAF, DFW's CW affiliate.

Yes, a light snow/ice will shut down Texas cities. It happens about once every 2-3 years.
