Rare demo version of the 1976 song "Snow Queen". Lyrics by Bernie Taupin, music by Elton John & Davey Johnstone. The song was then recorded as a duet with Kiki Dee and released as the B-side to the smash hit single "Don't Go Breaknig My Heart". The words are an unflattering tribute to Cher and drug use. Reportedly, Elton apologized once to Cher for recording the song, and she hadn't even heard of it! Musically it's quite interesting because it's a guitar song, not played on piano at all. Great drums and percussion by Roger Pope and Ray Cooper.
This "demo" sounds exactly the same as the final version, except for the absence of Kiki's voice. Is it the same backing track? And why did Kiki and David Nutter (her husband?) get credit on the single?

B-Side of "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart" with Kiki Dee. I always liked this side better. It's an enchanting song. Thanks for posting a high quality copy of it.

I love the song, but I have to disagree... not the best song he ever "produced". By produced, I assume you mean "created", since he didn't produce this song.
I would have to go with "Tonight" from Blue Movies. What about "Harmony" or the original "Candle In The Wind"? "Come Down In Time"? Goodbye"? SO many to choose from!!

Probably the best song, musically, that Elton has EVER produced. Kiki Dee later adding backing harmony was a good choice. Just perfect.
