I was wondering if it was a rifled barrel, and if the .410 was even really meant to go through such a barrel/possibly damage it. Guess not.

Yeah, it's rifled. The lead shot isn't going to damage the steel rifling. It won't have the most consistent spread of pellets beyond 15-20 feet, but that's not the intended purpose of the firearm. It's intended to be close up self defense gun.

I am purchasing this gun very soon, as an attemped car jacking victim (had my glock 27 in my front waistband) It is a very surreal situation that nobody should have to have happen to them, but knowing that I am NOT a victim and not knowing what if, if I had'nt drawn first when he opened my door!

The S&W Governor is cool too and you can fire .45 auto as well as having a 6 shooter.

Quality is what you would expect from S&W.

Mine is a keeper.

I love mine. The 3" inch .410 shells hurt like a mofo to shoot. That 4 buck ball 2.5" shell from Federal is the best round I've found so far. The 45 long colt rounds are a great round to shoot too. Buy this gun.

@illSkillJoey You are correct, there is not that much recoil. you can easly use one hand to fire it. With bird shot I blew two clean holes in a piece of cardboard that were at least 2" across from about 7 feet. It is LOUD that is for sure and will surely ger someones attention. The defense rounds have for 3 discs the side of a 9mm and 12 BBs. In your home you don't have to aim, just point in the direction and pull the trigger..
