  • @inurb4se I was about to say the same thing but you beat me to it.

  • Ok so in the US one of the reasons for mandatory sentencing laws is because of racism. Whites were getting more lenient sentences for the same crimes as brown people. Mandatory minimum sentencing ended that...

  • @SeerSucker1981 Hmm, lets see, because that would be unfair. Women and Men are not build equally.

  • Pointing out the existence of violent crime and removing violent criminals from society is not fear mongering. It's fulfilling the one duty of government. The necessary evil.

Prisons reduce crime not the criminal behavior of the individual criminal.

The deterrent effect of long prison sentences with delayed parole is a physical one. A violent criminal in prison for a long time will not be capable of committing crime in society. They are still capable of committing crime in prison and do so.

  • While I was turned off (get it?) by your porn argument satire. This video more than pleased my uppity self. It takes guts and brains to effectively question and examine the justice system. Thank you for going out and putting yourself in the lion's mouth because I these important questions and ideas are appreciated by sadly few people.

  • @inurb4se here as a first timer you probably would get about 6years for a murder and being a firsttimer you would sit about half of that and from those 3years, half you would spend in an "open" prison where you get "hollidays" to visit family and so on...

we've had several muderers just walk out from these "prisons"

  • @Darusdei

Actually there have been many cases in the United States where women have served no time for murders they have committed against abusive husbands, which were not acts of self-defense (i.e. them protecting themselves for the physical act) but of aggression (i.e. stabbing the husband multiple times while he was asleep). They also do not necessarily punish people equally for every crime, just saying.

  • I don't necessarily agree with this video. It really doesn't matter as to the reason why the murder happened, unless it was self defense. But being distraught because she is with an abusive partner is no reason to kill the person, go to the police and get help, seriously.

Once you start justifying reasons for murder you open up a very vague legal doorway which could be easily abused for the wrong reasons by manipulative sociopaths.

  • @SlamageEntertainment soft on crime? compared to what? give me a break, you don't even know what "soft" is...

  • Simple and straight to the point. Check out how Texas is going in the opposite direction, and it works.
