I love Savage ripping that Sting poster with his usual "FREAK OUT!" intensity. Savage and Hall were two generous workers. Hall in putting over announcer Zbyszko (a long time friend of his) and Savage jobbing to DDP not only here but in their first big match at Spring Stampede, thus giving DDP the true stamp of upper card legitimacy. These guys knew what was good for business and weren't afraid to play the fool to make it happen.

Stuff like this could still be pulled off. I would bet you any amount of money though many of the other surprises, like Jericho's debut in the WWF, would probably be damn hard to do.

@vlp81966 3 Count was awesome. But you're right, this belonged on the DVD set. This was an awesome moment.

seeing this live as a kid was awesome. Macho Man did a great job putting DDP over

@PandemoniumPictures1 The big difference is the whole La Parka really being DDP was funny as hell, now what WWE was doing with LOD at the same time, well not so much.
They made light of all the personal issues that Hawk was going through at that time,a lot like what WCW would do about a year later with Scott Hall, you know making light of his personal issues and all that.

Im not saying WCW made the right disision with the story line, but wwe did the exact same thing with Hawk from Legion of Doom around the same time.

do you guys think Sandy Ravage watched this?

@vlp81966 3 Count was Boss, Dude Who else can pull of a gimmick like that?
-
@wcwretro2 probably at least partly because of the internet and the dirt sheets on the internet
This was not on the Best of Nitro, but 3 Count was??? Where's the logic in that?
