It's a mystery, why this 1985 animation masterpiece by French director Jean-François Laguionie is known by so few people. Fantastic story, atmosphere & visuals. On par with René Laloux's "La Planète sauvage".

  • Is it from the DVD ? some dialogs (including an entire poem) are missing in this version, I don't know why.

Plus, Gwen's voice is done by a child, whereas in the original version it is an adult, which is so much better...

  • @Sylenius -- Interesting. So there are different versions out there.

  • Thank you for the video, it doesn't look easy to find. A lot of other beautiful european animation features will be released this year and next year. And I hope, producers will put more money into such great projects !

  • @AnimeTalk

It's now on youtube. Search it up.

  • @ribogok Yes, what I think is the "original" version was broadcasted on French TV some years ago, but I can't seem to find a digital version anywhere...

Still have the VHS though :p
