A great tango from Berlin (3) In einer kleinen Konditorei - Saxophon-Orchester Dobbri (1929)

Another popular tango in 1929 was "In einer kleinen Konditorei" (At a small pastry shop/cafe), composed by Fred Raymond (1900-1954), best remembered today for his operetta "Maske in blau" (1937) and many songs of the 1920's and 1930's.

This recording by Saxophon-Orchester Dobbri (Otto Dobrindt) was released as B-side to the tango "Fräulein Pardon" . For Fräulein Pardon", see :

The theme of the video is a summer's day in the 1920s, showing not only life in the hectic city (Berlin)but also people relaxing on the beaches...

Das ist jedenfalls die beste Video/Lied-Kombination, die mir auf YouTube jemals untergekommen ist. Ein unglaublich schönes Lied in einer wunderbaren Qualität gepaart mit einem dazu passenden Film voller eindruckvoller Originalausschnitte. Das war sogar noch zu meiner Jugendzeit ein "Hit" - jedenfalls mit einer Text-Variante: In einer kleinen Konditorei, da sassen wir zwei und frassen für drei. Sie spract kein Wort, kein einziges Wort, sie frass immerfort.........
