People who complain about this movie being racist do have something of a point, but they have to admit, although the movie made the Persians seem freaky, it also made them really, REALLY badass. Elite mutant warriors in demon masks? Battle rhinos? Giant dudes with fucking SWORDS for HANDS? Hell, I'd join that empire.

P.S. I thought Xerxes was awesome too, I disagree with all of the people who say he looked "gay".

I have nothing against the portrayal of the Persians, but I think they're too odd in the movie. I'm pretty sure their soldiers just looked like the regular infantry guys mostly. The Immortals actually looked different than in the movie, most of the Persian soldiers wore clothes that were suited for harsh desert terrain.

for those who acuse this movie of racism or exagerating things or even storycal mishraps, remember: THIS IS A MOVIE!!! Its just a movie made to entertain people AND expecialy to earn money. So forget the movie mistakes and defects and enjoy the fights.

The History Channel did a reality check program where they said the Immortals compared to the hoplites were more like medium infantry with wicker shields, shorter spears, chainmail, and black hoods cloaking the entire face like the Grim Reaper. When you kill one, the guy behind him steps forward and immediately takes his place in the rank, so it looks like you're killing the same man over and over. The real Xerxes had a square beard.
