(October 4, 2007) As the 2008 Beijing Olympics approach, China is catching lots of blame for human rights abuses. Film stars are up in arms about Darfur, and Tibetian refugees are protesting Chinese occupation. Everyone is demanding that Myanmar's repression of pro-democracy marchers be stopped - by China. Even the sole superpower is pleading with China now, although President Bush still plans to attend the Olympics next year.

It's a shame that they are politicizing an international sporting event
US, France, Britain, Russia, Korea, Japan, and over 100 Presidents and Prime Ministers accepted invitation to Olympic ceremony.
China is very happy that Bush family accepted the invitation.

@1XMarksSpot I agree totally. Western history downplay their invasion (colonization) of Indo-China since the 19th century. Look up "Unequal Treaties" and the "Opium Wars". USA govt should look at themselves in the mirror before they talk about China's human rights record. Now, they're killing Iraqi and Afghan civilian. Americans should watch the film "The New American Century". It'll wake them up.

LOL US blaming China for its human rights record? The US has an even worse human rights record than China. Just look at the Iraq War. It's fact that Iraq did not commit 9/11 and what did the US do? We invaded, bombed, and murdered innocent civilians. US has no place criticizing China for its human right record.
