@GSRteg87 Even in a non-VTEC car, you should still redline to get the most of the powerband from the next gear, VTEC motors don't drop off in power nearly as much as a non VVT car.

@GSRteg87 Sorry to say it, but if you're so knowledgeable about drag racing, you should know that the Type R makes about 200hp at 8000RPM.. about 185 at 9000. If you upshift, the revs drop to about 7, where it only makes 170.. So staying in the gear til the limiter is beneficial for the Type R. The car is meant to rev high. Sure, some cars redline do slow them down.. but not the Type R

Sorry to say it, these drivers are not professionals. Redlining like that drastically reduces quarter mile times. And to the comment about the "red zone" and why he was shifting like that. LMAO! Red lining your car gives you no extra power, or helps your car go faster. If anything, it slows you down. Before your power drop off is when you shift (in drag racing that is).

That wasnt stock because i think the record for stock is 14.6
