He came out just before his show started (about 15 minutes before it was scehduled to go on), to say that Michael Jackson had passed away. He explained that usually he features some sketches on MJ but that he wouldn't that night, as he didn't think it was appropriate... He said all of that before performing Ben. He then went back off stage for a few minutes, and returned to do the show then...

I was there that night, and he was just so genuine. He spoke for a while about MJ, because he has a part of his show where he copies him... But that night, he didn't perform it out of respect... It was incredible to see.
