Well, you know, this is what the breed was originally created to do :) I think it's very nice to see examples of GSDs that can still do the breed's original job

Love to see shepherds doing what they were bred to do, but isn't that a strange place for a herding trial? I should think the noise from traffic might be distracting to the animals.

more people need to let their GSDs herd! After all, they are German SHEPHERDS.

I just wondered. Dogwood Farm in northwest Indiana is a really great training/trialing facility. It's 200 miles from me, but that's where I train.

No, We don't usually travel outside of the Southeast.

Sorry...I meant "she" for Peekay. Glad to hear that she's doing well in herding.
Do you ever travel as far as Indiana to trial?

Yes, She earned the Herding Started Title in Dec of 2007, and got her first Intermediate Leg this April. We're competing in Intermediate next weekend.

Did he fully recover from his back injury? Get any more titles?
That is so very cool. Previous poster is so correct in saying it is great to see GSDs do what they're breed to do (originally). If I were a sheep, I'd go wherever that dog sent me!! Like most herding dogs, she looks like she is having a pretty good day at work.

Thank you! Things were a little too "neat and clean" for her that day. That's why on the final fetch along the fetch she got bouncy and started to bark.
