Internet Browser Redirect Virus - Tutorial to Removal

This is a tutorial on how to remove one of the most frustrating viruses out there. Even with free anti-virus/virus removing software, this virus makes it hard to find and makes your browser prone to unwanted advertisements, fake virus alerts, and a slow browser. This video will show you how to get rid of the worst hijackers out there. I don't take credit for this video but a guy on YouTube showed me how to do this and I want to make this well-known that way you guys don't get this virus.

When i went into my drivers folder then into the etc folder there was nothing there. All it said was that this folder is empty

@CfcCharliie make sure that all types of files are viewable on the dropdown menu in that folder

@CfcCharliie I changed to make sure all types of files are viewable but still nothing is there. Would the hosts file be anywhere else ?

@CfcCharliie type 'hosts file wiki' on google and go to the wikipedia page about 'hosts (file)'

Scroll until you find the 'Location of the File System'. Hope this helps.

Is there anyway you would maybe pick a day, and get on teamviewer and try to do it on my computer. If you are not familiar with teamviewer it is for seeing/controlling someone elses computer. I haven't been able to get anything to work for me and was wondering if you would mind helping me.

I'm not too computer savvy, but i think "::1" doesn't have anything to do with a virus- that this shows up when your computer is running IPv6

Thanks a lot. This seemed to work. In my Control Panel, Internet Options, I had a strange link. I deleted it and replaced it with Google and everything seems to be working. Thanks again.
